This Privacy Policy explains how Impact General ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or buy from www.impactgeneral.com (the "Site"), or otherwise interact with us, including by email, phone, social media, or at events (together, the "Services").
Our online store is hosted on Shopify. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services. Questions? Email us at Bill.King@ImpactGeneral.com.
Summary of key points

- Why we use it: to fulfill orders, run and secure the store, provide customer support, send marketing emails you've agreed to, and meet legal obligations.
- Who we share it with: Shopify and the service providers that help us run the business (payments, shipping, email, analytics). We do not sell personal information.
- Your choices: you can unsubscribe from marketing, manage cookies, and, depending on where you live, ask to access, correct, or delete your information or opt out of targeted advertising.

2. How do we use your information?
We use personal information to:
- Provide the Services: process payments, fulfill and ship orders, handle returns, and manage your account.
- Support you: answer questions and send order confirmations, shipping updates, and other service messages.
- Market to you: send marketing emails if you've opted in. You can opt out any time.
- Improve the Site: understand how visitors use the Site and measure how well our campaigns work.
- Keep things secure: detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Meet legal obligations: comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights.
We may use your information for other purposes with your consent.
3. When and with whom do we share your information?
We share personal information only as described below.
- Shopify: our e-commerce platform, which hosts the Site and processes orders. See Shopify's Privacy Policy.
- Payment processors: Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, and other payment providers offered at checkout process your payment. We never receive your full card number.
- Shipping carriers: such as UPS, FedEx, and USPS, to deliver your order.
- Email and CRM providers: to send order updates and messages you've agreed to receive.
- Analytics providers: such as Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics, to understand how the Site is used.
- Advertising partners: we don't currently use advertising pixels. If we add tools such as the Meta Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag, those partners would receive device and browsing data to show relevant ads, and we will update this policy first.
- Other Shopify apps: apps we install to help run the store, such as reviews or customer support tools.
- Legal and business reasons: to comply with law or protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of all or part of our business.
Our service providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
4. Do we use cookies and tracking technologies?
Yes. We and our partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to run the store, remember your cart and preferences, analyze traffic, and deliver ads.
- Necessary cookies keep the cart, checkout, and login working. These can't be turned off.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how the Site is used.
- Marketing cookies: we don't currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we add them, we'll ask for your consent where required and update this policy.
You can manage non-essential cookies through the cookie banner on our Site and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. Learn more about Shopify's cookies.
5. How long do we keep your information?
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, unless the law requires or allows longer (for example, tax and accounting records). Order records are generally kept for seven years. When we no longer need information, we delete or anonymize it, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible.
6. How do we keep your information safe?
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, and payments run through PCI-compliant processors. No online transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.
7. Do we collect information from children?
No. The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at Bill.King@ImpactGeneral.com and we will delete it.
8. What are your privacy rights?
Everyone can unsubscribe from marketing and manage cookies. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights.
Choices for everyone
- Marketing emails: click "unsubscribe" in any email or contact us. We'll still send order and account messages.
- Cookies: use our cookie banner and your browser settings.
- Withdrawing consent: where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This doesn't affect processing that already happened.
Rights under US state privacy laws (including California)
If you live in California or another state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we've collected about you, and get a copy.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and of targeted advertising.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information (we don't use it for purposes that require this).
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
- Appeal our decision if we decline your request, where your state law provides this.
Sale and sharing. We don't sell personal information, and we don't currently share it for targeted advertising. If we add advertising pixels in the future (such as the Meta Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag), that may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some state laws. Before that happens, we will update this policy and add a "Your Privacy Choices" opt-out link. We honor Global Privacy Control signals (see Section 9) and do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
Categories collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (name, email, address, IP address); customer records (contact and billing details); commercial information (purchase history); internet activity (browsing on our Site); and approximate geolocation based on IP address. Sources and purposes are described in Sections 1 to 3.
Verification and authorized agents. To protect your information, we'll verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by matching details you give us with information we already have. You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that they're authorized.
Shine the Light (California). California residents may request, once a year and free of charge, details about personal information we shared with third parties for their direct marketing in the prior calendar year.
9. Do-Not-Track and Global Privacy Control
We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser. There's no agreed standard for Do-Not-Track (DNT) signals, so we don't currently respond to them.
10. Do we update this policy?
Yes. We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make material changes, we'll post a notice on the Site or contact you directly.
11. How can you review, update, or delete your data?
You can update most account details by logging in to your account. To access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to opt out, email Bill.King@ImpactGeneral.com with the subject line "Privacy Request," or call 714-532-1621. We'll respond within the time required by law, typically 45 days.
